Counselor-In-Training Program for Boys and Girls 15 - 17 Years of Age
The Counselor In Training (CIT) program is for former campers 15-17 years of age.
Our CIT program focuses on providing opportunities for the development of strong leaders through training, discussion, observation and hands on activities. This program is for teens that have a serious interest in working with children and improving their leadership skills.
The skills focused on are group leadership, enthusiasm, communication, managing undesired behavior, teamwork, game and activity leadership, responsibility, respect, motivation, initiative, listening, problem solving, observation and positive teaching skills.
CIT’s are evaluated daily on the skills they are taught. Participation in the CIT program does not imply that the participant will become a member of the Berger staff upon completion. Participation in the program is for the development of leadership skills and abilities that can be used in other aspects of life.
This program is designed for individuals who are:
1. Eager and committed to becoming a stronger leader. 2. Interested in working with children. 3. Interested in developing teaching skills and earning Berger activity certifications. 4. Mature. 5. Enthusiastic about camp life.
6. Have a positive attitude.
NOTE: Campers new to Camp Berger are also encouraged to apply
CIT Sessions:
You must attend a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks to be considered for the CIT program. Call the Director for availability and pricing prior to completing the Camper Registration form.
