Medical Care …

Medical care and the safety of our campers are of utmost importance to us. A state approved licensed nurse is in residence at the infirmary at all times. A doctor is on call within five miles of Camp Berger. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington assures prompt attention of serious illness and injury.

The Camp Berger Health Staff does not treat Planter's Warts found on feet. If discovered at Camp, along with any other type of communicable diseases, infections, etc., the camper would have to return home.

Transportation is not provided for campers returning home due to illness. A CHILD WHO IS SICK BEFORE CAMP BEGINS SHOULD BE KEPT HOME FOR HIS/HER OWN SAKE AND THAT OF OTHERS. Many communicable diseases begin with cold-like symptoms.

No refunds will be made for any part of the camp fees if a camper leaves camp before the session(s) he/she is registered for are completed, except in the event of documented medical reasons. Leaving camp for reasons related to homesickness is not considered a medical reason.
